SCI will host launch party for The Nadas' first children's album
For Immediate Release — Tuesday, July 12, 2011
DES MOINES, IA: The Science Center of Iowa & Blank IMAX Dome Theater (SCI) will host three special performances with The Nadas August 6 to celebrate the release of their first children’s album, Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed. The album, scheduled for released on Saturday, August 6 will be their first album targeted towards a younger generation of fans.
The Nadas will perform three concerts in SCI’s Founders Hall at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Each performance will be immediately followed by a 15-minute autograph session with the band. Copies of their album Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed will be available for purchase.
“We are thrilled to launch Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed at SCI,” says co-founding singer / guitarist Jason Walsmith. “Our goal was to make an album that has something for everyone - one that kids would like, but also doesn’t annoy the parents. SCI is the perfect place for us to launch it because they cater to all ages.”
In addition to The Nadas performances the SCI team will engage visitors with a day full of special activities that explore sound, pitch and tone. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with tuning forks, sound cylinders and palm pipes to learn how sound works.
“SCI is proud to host the launch party for The Nadas' first children’s album,” says SCI Marketing Director Chris Beck. “SCI has had a long relationship with the band; they are members of SCI and some of their children have attended the SCI preschool. We are excited to provide them with this opportunity to entertain a new demographic.”
Both the performance and autograph sessions are included with SCI General Admission. General Admission is $7.00 for Children (2-12), $10.00 for Adults (13-64) and $8.00 Senior (65+). Tickets can be purchased online at www.sciowa.org/buy-tickets/, by calling 515-274-6868 or at the SCI Box Office. General seating is available for each performance.
