Cultural Celebrations are included with SCI Total Experience tickets and General SCI Admission, and enhance the experience of SCI's summer traveling exhibit RACE: Are We So Different?
Join the Celebration on Saturday, July 17!
• Tilly Woodward, Iowa Artist, will be speaking on how art can be used to build tolerance and community
• Dr. Paul Shao, Iowa State University Professor of Architecture, will talk about the River Gardens along the Des Moines River
• Sticks Artists will assist SCI visitors to create quilt squares about what makes them unique, which will later be quilted into a banner and displayed at SCI
• Pella Historical Society and Windmill will be in Dutch Traditional Dress with activities and information
• Penny Furgerson from Gateway Dance will engage visitors with activities
• New Iowan Center will be onsite with information
