| Scope: |
This person assists the development and implementation of the curriculum to meet the goals of the Science Center of Iowa Preschool program. |
| Responsibilities: |
- Help hire, train, coach and develop Preschool team
- Help create teacher schedules
- Maintain SCI’s NAEYC requirements
- Work with State of Iowa on Universal Pre-K requirements
- Teach and direct classroom activities when necessary
- Ensure communication with parents through newsletters and calendar of events
- Support teachers with any discipline problems that may arise
- Maintain current teaching certificate
- Maintain current First Aid and CPR credentials
- Acquire four continuing education hours each year
- Have a physical examination every three years
- Must sit on various SCI teams relating to both the SCI facility and Preschool
- Other duties as assigned

| Requirements: |
- Masters Degree preferred (or working towards it) or relevant experience
- BA/BS degree in education or other related degree, with certification in the state of Iowa
- Must have teaching experience in the public school system and/or preschool teaching experience
- Must be well informed concerning the preschool child
- Must have above average teaching skills
- Must have a love for children
- Must have a keen desire to work with and teach preschoolers
- Must have MUCH patience

Primarily Monday through Friday 9:00-5:00
