| Scope: |
This position is responsible for assisting the lead teacher in implementing the curriculum to meet the goals of the Science Center of Iowa preschool program. |
| Responsibilities: |
• Teach and direct classroom activities.
• Prepare and maintain classroom for daily use.
• Meet with lead teacher to devise daily plans and prepare materials for daily use.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of parent/teacher conferences.
• Meet with preschool staff once a month for planning the activities of the ensuing month.
• Attend and assist with all parent / preschooler special events during the school year.
• Create and design classroom games and materials.

| Requirements: |
Education / Experience:
• BA/ BS degree in early education or other related degree, with certification in the State of Iowa
• Teaching experience in the public school system and / or preschool teaching experience.
• Maintain current teaching certificate.
• Maintain current First Aid and CPR credentials.
• Acquire four continuing educations hours each year from an accredited institution.
• Pass a physical examination every three years.

• Inexhaustible patience.
• Must enjoy working as part of the Science Center of Iowa team, excellent communication skills.

| Working Hours: |
• M-F during normal school year. Weekly hours dependent upon class schedule.
• Variable hours during summer term as schedule dictates.
