From tot to retiree, the Science Center of Iowa is dedicated to promoting lifelong learning and to providing activities to engage families across generations. Six themed experience platforms support innovative hands-on exhibits and live programs, and three theaters including Central Iowa’s first IMAX Dome Theater truly offer a dynamic range of activities for participants of all ages. Parents, grandparents and seniors will be able to embark on an individual journey of discovery or share the experience with their child or grandchild from preschool to preteen and beyond.

Dedicated to meeting the needs of parents and families, the Science Center of Iowa offers safe and easy parking immediately north of the facility for easy access. An escalator and oversized public elevator make it easy to get strollers and large groups through the facility together easily. Family restrooms and an entire experience platform dedicated to children under seven (but welcoming to participants of all ages!) make the Science Center easy to navigate and enjoy as a family. Interactive live programs changing daily complement hands-on exhibits and will keep busy minds engaged no matter how often you visit.
