Homeschool Science Series
SCI's Homeschool Science Series is offered monthly with exciting classes for families looking to supplement their science curriculum. Each class includes a live program, Discovery Lab, area to eat lunch and time to explore SCI. At the Homeschool Science Series, students and parents will be able to network with other homeschool families in the Des Moines area.
Schedule (10:00 am - 2:00 pm)
- September 12: Chemistry Creations Lab, Cold Blooded Critters
- October 10: Deep Freeze, Zula Patrol (Recommended for grades 3 and younger) or Dawn of the Space Age (grades 3+)
- November 14: Our Changing Earth Lab, Backyard Safari Adventure
- December 12: Iowa Skies Tonight, Meet Stuffee
- January 10: Machine Scene Lab, Zap
- February 14: Fire Works, Storm School with the SCI Team
Pricing
$8.50 per student for each class
- Free for parents, 1:10 parent to child ratio must be met
- Families are able to take advantage of SCI's discounted school pricing by booking the visit as a class (minimum 10 students).
- Please note: We are unable to apply an SCI membership to the class.
The Homeschool Science Series is designed for kids ages 6 to 12 and supports the Iowa Core, National Science Standards. As always, information is accurate, relevant and fun!
