Here are some answers to other frequently asked questions.
Will my membership be extended?
To thank you for your commitment to SCI during our extended closure, memberships that were active between March 16 and June 30, 2020, will receive a four-month* extension.
To see your new expiration date, simply update your SCI digital membership card!
- If you've already downloaded your digital membership card: Open the card in your digital wallet, go to the "back" of the card and swipe down to refresh.
- Don't have a digital membership card? All members will receive an email from Cuseum with the instructions on how to download and use your membership card using the digital wallet on your Apple or Android smartphone.
- As a reminder, SCI went digital with membership cards last year in order to cut down on plastic and paper waste! View Digital Membership Card FAQs
*TRI and Combo Members: Only the SCI portion of your membership will be extended by four months.
When can I visit SCI?
SCI is currently open to the public on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00-4:00 pm. All visitors (including SCI members) should reserve advance tickets to ensure space for distancing and time for enhanced sanitation.
How do I get tickets?
We have a new online ticketing system, which should be much more user-friendly, especially on mobile devices! Member information is already loaded into the system, but you will need to register your account. To register, visit www.sciowa.org/gettickets, then select "Register" from the navigation bar under the photo. Please use the email address on file. Your free admission will be reflected once you get to the checkout.
I haven’t received my digital SCI membership card, can you re-send it?
Yes! To update your email address on file or for any digital SCI membership card questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I make sure I get the latest information about my membership?
We are primarily communicating to members via email updates. If you need to add or update an email to your membership account, please email email@example.com. You also can follow SCI on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter or check out our "Go Beyond with SCI" resources at www.sciowa.org/athome.
Why do members need to get tickets to visit?
Members still receive free admission, but will need to register for timed tickets so SCI staff can regulate the number of people in the building to ensure space for distancing and time for enhanced sanitation.
