Location, Iowa.

The Science Center of Iowa (SCI) will receive a $10,000 grant from the Monsanto Fund’s 2016 site grant initiative to support statewide outreach programming, called Science @ Your Site.

The Science Center of Iowa’s Science @ Your Site outreach program brings live science programming to classrooms and assemblies across Iowa, serving more than 20,000 students annually.

"Our outreach program allows schools that are working on limited budgets to experience the excitement of SCI from their very own classroom," said Curt Simmons, SCI President and CEO. "Local support from groups like the Monsanto Fund help us continue to improve our offerings and make these experiences more accessible to schools."

"I am really proud to be associated with this exciting and dynamic organization," said Jeff Woessner, Genotyping Production Lead at Monsanto Company - Ankeny and SCI board member. "We’re very pleased to be able to support the Science Center of Iowa with this Monsanto Fund grant."

This year, the Monsanto Fund awarded more than $1.4 million to nonprofit organizations through its site grant initiative to help address essential needs in rural communities. Nonprofit organizations across the U.S. have received more than $7.5 million through this program over the last five years.
