Parking
Covered ramp parking is available just across the street from SCI's main entrance at 4th and Market Street.
Hourly rate is $3 for the first hour, $1 for each additional hour.
A daily parking pass may be purchased for $6 at the SCI Visitor Services desk during operating hours.
Directions
Please note: The City of Des Moines will be doing road construction on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, along the south side of SCI, until December 2024. The following are a few street closures to be aware of:
- There is a North/South street closure on SW 7th Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
- There is another closure on 6th Avenue between Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.Those two closures surround the DART Central Station for reference.
- The north lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive are still closed.
We will continue to update the closures as the road construction progresses.
